Pseudo-truths

Lately, I've been reading a book titled "Life's Like That" written by Lydia Teh, a Malaysian author of a best-selling book, "Honk! If You're Malaysian". She explains every lil' details every average-joe Malaysians go through in their daily lives.

I turned to one of the pages with a title Pseudo-truths, as i was reading that page, i couldn't help but nodding in agreement with the author's opinions and chuckling all the way. To give you a clearer picture of what pseudo-truths means, compare them to almost as true as "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west" or "Malaysians must talk with lahs in their conversations".....hahaha. Example no.1 of pseudo-truths you find in Malaysians' lifestyle:

"It always rains after I have washed my car"
I truly agree with that! Once, i complained to a friend that i'm fed up of washing my mom's car coz it always rains after i've washed the car, especially on Sundays. Put yourself in my shoes for a moment, after all the hard work washing the car, scrubbing the tyres and wiping the whole car dry. Just when you admire your hard work, looking at the clean, shiny car then... showers of rain pours down and you can imagine your car "crying" to bits. losing all its shine! This is Malaysian weather. Example no.2:
"The queue over there moves faster"
When wanting to pay for stuff you buy in a supermarket, you see people in queues waiting for the cashiers at the counters to pay for what they buy. You choose the queue which have the least amount of people waiting or those who have fewer things to purchase. And so, you wait for your turn but you look at the other counters and noticed that the other queues end faster than yours! Then, you feel that something is wrong with the speed of the cashier who is gonna punch in the cash register and you can't help thinking why is this cashier so slow????
The next example of pseudo-truth is:
"The phone rings either when I'm out, busy or in the bathroom"
This happens to my mom quite often..lolz. When she's free, sitting on the couch, watching tv or just reading the papers in the living room, the phone is as silent as a grave. As soon as she leaves the house or walks upstairs for a shower, the phone rings and the caller asks, "Helow, may I speak to your mum?" then i'll say "Erm, she's not in" or "She's having her shower, call back later?". If I counted the number of times i said those lines, it would be hundreds! Hahahaa why, oh why? One more statement i totally agree with is:
"Humongous zit often sprouts up just before an important event"
What is this humongous zit??? It's a pimple or an acne right on the obvious spots on the face! Right on! Really, one or two days before a party or gathering event comes up, all of a sudden, out of nowhere, a pimple grows on your face! It's like hitting a jackpot but only thing that its not a jackpot of cash...its the bacterial attack jackpot...ish! I remember 2 years ago, I had bought a ticket for a school's dinner function held in a hotel. Few days before the event, i had a pimple right on my forehead! Obvious, of course! Couldn't get it off 100% clear, don't trust those ads where after you apply the advertised pimple cream and BAM!, the pimple clears off the next day! That's only in your dreams ...However, good thing i covered it with my hair in front.
Well, i'm sure you have experience with at least one of these truths? Hahahahaa, you should read this book i'm talking about. Malaysians are people with unique lifestyles! Yes?? Say "AYAYAE CAPTAIN!"
